Favourite Movies Of The Month | April ♡

I am starting to do this new monthly favourites where I choose a random topic where I talk about a specific items that I love just from that topic. For example, last month I only talked about beauty products (link here: http://wonderouswonderings.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/march-beauty-favourites-2014.html), this month I have decided to write about my favourite movies that I have watched, just because in the half term this month I basically just watched movies throughout the half term and have loved brand new films I have never seen before, and some old favourites that I have rediscovered and just thought I would mention for the sake of this post! - I know its not exactly the end of the month yet but I thought I'd be a great blogger and do it earlier :-) Enjoy! x

1) Taken (2008) My dad and sister introduced me to this film a while ago, but I completely forgot about it until I recently browsed through our film collection, trying to decide on a film which I haven't attempted to watch yet and found this film. I didn't know what to expect about this film, until about 5 minutes into the film and all I can say is that it has a lot of violence, it keeps you on-edge throughout the entire 88 ish mimutes, fast paced and action packed movie! The plot is interesting yet sad (look it up on wikipedia, I really can't be bothered to type the whole plot up for you) and despite it being an 18, the film is great for the action film genre lover. Rating out of 10: 7.5

2) Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008) A definite favourite of the month! Yes I have seen this film before, I'm pretty sure the whole teenage girl population has seen this film (if not then I think you have a mental problem and should definitely go watch it straight after reading this, even if it's 11.00 on a school night!). I watched it a few weeks ago at a friends house, as I hadn't seen it in about 8 months which I think is a long time and it is just brilliant and a great life lesson to all girls! A typical girlie chick flick with great music, hot boys, hilarious scenes, mean girls and a fanastic them, you can't go wrong with watching this film. Rating out of 10: 10 every time!

3) The LEGO Movie (2014) This film has recently been released in cinemas and I watched it with my dad and my brother last month, but the film was actually a lot better than I thought which is why it is being metioned in this post. The film itself is all LEGO based, the story line was interesting even though it is a childrens film, I thought that the graphics were excellent and the theme tune Everything Is Awesome is so catchy - my brother couldn't stop singing it even after a week after seeing it! There are so many famous actors/actresses in the movie, that I couldn't not watch it, and the whole concept of the movie was done very well and I'm happy that I have seen it because it's great! Rating out of 10: 7

4) Knowing (2009) This film is probably one of my favourite sci-fi disaster themed movie I have ever seen (well to be honest, I haven't really seen many of them but oh well!) The filming of the film was brilliant, the disaster scenes were so real life like, you'd think that this actually happened and it is one of those movies that stays in your head and is memorable because it's so good! The story line of the film was so interesting, it keeps you on-edge and wanting to find out more, the whole concept is just fascinating and well written - I wish this movie was more popular because it is that good and definitely a film I'd recommend to anyone who wants to see a good movie! Rating out of 10: 9

5) Frozen (2013) I'm sure everyone has heard of this movie before, however seeing as this film was released on DVD this month and that my very lovely mother bought it for me and my family to watch, it was just not right not to feature the film in my monthly favourites! This Disney film is just as good as everyone is hyping up about it, it is not the all time best Disney film because I have many favourites, but it is still amazing and in my top 5 favourite movies. The soundtrack to the movie is flawless and the songs are catchy, the animation, voices, everything about the movie is just so good and at a really high standard. A film that I would totally watch over and over again and never get bored of it because it is so great. Rating out of 10: 10

6) The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013) When I stumbled across the movie trailer of the film months before its release in cinema, I loved it so much. I love movies with this kind of 'fantasy' theme, and it seemed so different to similar films such as Twilight, Vampire Academy ect. I found out that it was based on a book series, decided to buy it in the summer and loved every minute that I spent reading it, and managed to see it in the cinema with my sister during the holidays as well which was almost as good as the book. The film was action-packed, very fast paced and great - I'm definitely a MASSIVE fan of the fandom. There wasn't a moment where I was bored, there was so much going on and I can quote some of the movie because I've watched it numerous of times because its that good. Rating out of 10: 9.5

I'm sorry if this post was awful and didn't explain really any of the films in amounts of detail, however these awesome films don't really need much explaining - you just need to watch it and you'll hopefully love them just as much as I have over the past month of me sitting at home watching them and reviewing them.

Adios amigos!

Meg x x
